It was a great honor to be commissioned by the Ohio Arts Council to create the awards for the 2006 Governor's Awards for the Arts in Ohio. Six awards were needed of a similar size, one somewhat larger for the Irma Lazarus Award and one piece was added to the permanent collection of the Ohio Arts Council. I used shibori techniques (stitching and binding) to pattern the pieces and multiple applications of procion dyes to create the color. |
